The Play begins in 1961.  Sarah Grosburg is preparing tea with her polish housekeeper Vincent as they await the arrival of her son Artie's fiancee, the unassuming and virtuos Rochelle Bloom.

As Sarah gives her future daughter-in-law the third degree, her own terrible secret emerges. Forty years later, Sarah's single granddaughter Jeannie travels to China with her father, the grown up Artie, to adopt a baby named for her grand mother. Can a family over generations find peace, self-acceptance, and love?

Our resident producer Howard Teichman, who recently directed of The Value of Names, will helm this production. This will be Howard’s second teaming with Daniel Goldfarb. They last worked together on Daniel Goldfarb’s Modern Orthodox, a smash hit that garnered many award nominations and sold out houses.
